SUFFOLK – Mattie Lee Morris, 86, of Suffolk VA, passed peacefully at home on Thursday May 21, 2015 and is now with her heavenly Father. She was born September 15, 1928 in Harriston, VA, the daughter of Charles Edward and Rose Lee (Via) Morris.
She was a former member of Fishersville United Methodist Church. Mattie was a retired Quality Control Inspector from General Electric and Genicom.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald M. Saufley, daughter Donna Lee Small, and her three brothers William Oscar Morris, James Robert Morris and Dewey C. Morris.
Survivors include one daughter Camilla Saufley Sparks and her husband Phil of Powhatan, son in-law Larry C. Small of Stuarts Draft. Four grandchildren; Stephanie (Buffy) Russell and husband Ray of Suffolk, Angela Flick and husband Tim of Fishersville, Phillip C. Sparks and wife Jessica of Midlothian and Brandon T. Sparks and wife Emily of Powhatan.
Great Grandchildren: Maegan Gunnell and husband Brandon, Logan Russell, Seth Shifflett, Savanna Newman, Ashleigh Sparks, Kelly Sparks, Todd Sparks, Maxwell Sparks, and Anna Sparks. Also survived by a sister Charlene Hague and husband Donald of PA, four brothers: Eddie Morris and wife Butch of Crimora, Charles E. Morris and wife Sara of Roanoke, Sidney Albert Morris and wife Doris of Grottoes, and Billy Tanner Morris of Crimora as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mattie's life will take place on Wednesday May 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro by the graveside. (Viewing will be observed during and following the graveside service.).
