Barbara Firestone Busch, age 89, formerly of Alliance, Ohio, died Thursday, May 21, 2015, in Columbus. She was born Aug. 28, 1925, in Canton, Ohio, to Hiram Henry Firestone and Wilda Reese Firestone Pappenhagen.

Barbara earned a degree in medical technology from Mount Union College. She worked side by side with her husband, Dr. Carl J. Busch, as they built and maintained a successful veterinary practice, the Tri-County Animal Hospital in Alliance.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Alliance and found great joy singing in the church choir with Carl. She was an active member for many years in the P.E.O. Sisterhood, as well as the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority at Mount Union College. She was a long-standing member of the Alliance Country Club and enjoyed numerous Tuesdays with the Ladies Golf Association.

She is survived by her sister, Carol Jackson of Milford, Michigan; a daughter, Kathy Mirakovits of Portage, Michigan; a son, Jim Busch, and daughter-in-law, Barb Busch, of Columbus, Ohio. She also has six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hiram Henry Firestone and Wilda Reese Firestone Pappenhagen; her spouse, Carl J. Busch; son, William F. Busch; and sister, Carville Jensen.

Private interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park.
