Ethel S. Hirsch, formerly of 42 S. 1st St., Bellwood, was dead on arrival at Mercy Hospital at 8:30 pm, Saturday, Feb. 7, 1970, from her home at 2611 Quail Avenue.

She was born at McAlevy's Fort, Sept. 20, 1887, a daughter of Thomas and Susan (McAlvey) Strunk, and married Richard H. Hirsch, who died Jan. 21, 1946.

Surviving are a son and daughter, Mrs. Susan Sunderland, and Thomas, with whom she resided, and one grandson.

Mrs. Hirsch was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Ladies Bible class, Bellwood, a past worthy matron of the Tyrone Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the White Shrine.
