She is the former Valera Rosen, born Aug. 24, 1927 in Perham, Minn., daughter of the late Gust A. and Ella Simmering Rosen.
She was a graduate of Perham High School, Perham, Minn.
On June 11, 1950, she married Delbert Mey at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Perham, Minn. She was employed at Stoelting Inc., Kiel, as a secretary for 28 years, retiring in July, 1993.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel, and Professional Secretaries International.
Survivors include her husband, Delbert; two sons, Craig (Cindy) Mey, Stetsonville, Wis.; Kevin (Janine) Mey, Kiel; one daughter, Claudia (John) Rolefson, Green Bay; five grandchildren, Anela, Bradley, Sara, Krista and Kali; one brother, Marvin (Lou) Rosen, Lincoln, Neb., and one sister, Velma (David) Pinks, Fridley, Minn. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca and one brother, Eldred.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 3., 1994 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel, with the Rev. Richard Warnke, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Kiel City Cemetery.
Friends may greet the family at CHURCH, from 6 p.m., Thursday, until the time of services.
A memorial has been established in her name.
