Emerald G. Stoney Stone, 73, of 2570 County Road 1075 passed away at his home Tuesday morning, September 26, 2000 following an extended illness. Mr. Stone was born February 10, 1927 in Olive Hill, Kentucky to Bert & Clara (Abrahms) Stone. Mr. Stone was retired from Armco Steel as the general foreman of the maintenance department. He was a member of Community Bible Baptist Church. Mr. Stone was a veteran of WW II serving the United States Navy in the Pacific. He was Past Master of Venus Lodge #152, Past Commander of Mansfield Commandery #21, member of Mansfield Chapter #28 Royal Arch Masons, Mansfield Shrine Club, Mansfield Council #94 Al Koran Shrine, Manatee Shrine Club of Bradenton, Florida, Royal Court #42 Order of Amaranth, Ruth Chapter #17 O.E.S, and a life member of VFW Post #8586, Perrysville, Ohio. He is survived by his wife Betty Ruth (Saults) Stone of Perrysville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia Ann & Harold F. Myers of Lexington, Ohio and Betty Jane Weston of Mansfield; two step-sons, John F. and George E. Van Horn, both of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Jason Green, Justin Green and his wife Tasha, Anastasia Nikki Myers, and Denise Myers; and one nephew, Phillip G. Stone of Charlotte, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lillian Mae; two brothers, Dennis & Clifford Stone; and one sister, Opal Clay. Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. where Masonic Services will be held at 8:30. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 29, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Randall Collins and Rev. Glenn Phillips. Military graveside services will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Bible Baptist Church or Hillside Church of God.
