Zachary Michael Phillips, 18 year old son of Lyndsie McCoy, Colona, and Jamie Phillips, life was cut short by an unmerciful act of violence. He did not suffer.

A time for friends and family to say goodbye to Zac will be from 12 Noon until 2 PM Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. A brief committal service will follow at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. A celebration of Zac's life will follow at the pavilion at Riverside Park, Moline from 4:30 PM until 10PM. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family.

Zac was born on December 7, 1996 in Silvis. He started playing baseball at the age of 5 for Twin Rivers Little League. He loved Jordan's shoes and collected many pair. Zac loved playing with cars since he was a little boy. As he grew older the love of cars spread to x-box's Need for Speed. Zac's dream car was his 1993 Nissan 240sx. He also had a 1996 Mustang Cobra Convertible, which he received from his father as a graduation present. He would have graduated from UTHS in a few days. Zac was taught from a young age to respect people and show kindness, no matter who you are with. He enjoyed travel, having been to Mexico, the Bahamas, Florida numerous times and at least a dozen of the United States. At 18 he had seen more places than most people see in a lifetime.

Those left to mourn his leaving, his mother Lyndsie, father, Jamie, sister Rebecca Susanne Phillips, Colona, grandparents, Pam Serra, Colona, Charlie and Ruth Phillips, Colona, Ron McCoy, and Randy Serra, Silvis, great grandfather John Berge, special aunt and uncle Jeannie and Bob Hemphill, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, girlfriend Ginger Bradley, and his dog, Sammy.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Susanne Phillips.

Zac's family encourages all to learn from this. Life is precious and do not let his life be lived in vane.
