He died as a result of an automobile accident in Savannah.

His mother; his wife; one brother, Herman Earnest and one brother-in-law, Ronald Miller.
Survivors:
His father; two sons: Jeff Earnest (Leslie) and Mark Earnest (Kendra, both of Varnell; one sister Wanda Stewart (Dennis) of Cohutta; one brother George Earnest (Linda) of Cohutta; three grandchildren, Alyssa, Annastasia and Audrey Earnest; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services held Monday, May 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Guffey officiating.
