Dennis Scott McCorkle was born on Sept. 26, 1950, the son of Scott McCorkle and Roma Norton McCorkle at Smith Center. He was one of six children born to this union. The family moved to Sabetha where he attended school and graduated in 1968. Dennis was united in marriage to Bonnie Ellington on April 11, 1981. Three children were born to this union. They later were divorced. Dennis worked for 22 years at Boeing in Wichita as a machinist before retiring a year ago.
..Dennis died on Oct. 18 at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, Mo. at the age of 56. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl McCorkle and Darrell McCorkle.
..Dennis is survived by his parents, Scott McCorkle and Roma McCorkle of Sabetha; two sons, Palmer McCorkle amd Silas McCorkle, both of Andover; one daughter, Amoretta Linder of Wichita; two sisters, Sharon Clelland of Chanute and Norma Jean Dyke of Hoyt; one brother, Jeff McCorkle of Sabetha.
..Graveside services were Monday, Oct. 23, at 10:30 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery [should read Pleasant View] in Athol.
