Reverend Harold D. Bedinger of Moline and formerly of Murphysboro, died at age 79 on Friday, May 1, 1987, at his home.
He was born in Johannesburg, South Africa on September 18, 1907, the son of Royal and Amanda Nesbitt Bedinger.
He married Mildred Sigmon in Danville on April 30, 1929.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Betty Shotters of Deerfield; six sons, Douglas of Colona, James of Memphis, John of Dallas, Paul of Taylorville, Charles of Peoria and Danny of Chester; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred and Roy Bedinger, both of Georgetown; and one sister, Mary Gilkinson of Fairmont.
One daughter, Ona Stewart, preceded him in death.
Reverend Bedinger had retired in 1972. He was pastor of the Church of the Nazarene in Murphysboro, and had previously pastored churches in Flora, Benton, Stockton, Stonington and East Saint Louis.
