Hazel Spicer married her first husband, George E. Gardner on March 31, 1915. They were divorced in 1930.

George & Hazel had two children:
--(Charles) Meredith Gardner (b. 1916)
--Ruby E. Gardner (b. ~1918)

Hazel married her second husband the widower, Carl Frederick Heinig, on Oct 08, 1932. They remained married until her death.

Although Hazel and Fred had no children together, she helped raise his seven children. They had a good life together. Hazel is remembered as a very sweet lady by her step-grandchildren.

When Fred became elderly, he was affected by old age dementia. Hazel took care of him for many years. When she was no longer able to care for him, due to her own declined health, she felt forced to bring him to a nursing home. Hazel brought Fred to the nursing home in the afternoon and later that evening she died.

Hazel is buried next to Fred, who is also buried next to Coral. (Fred married Hazel three years after his first wife Coral died and that is why there is a triple headstone.)

Myrtle Heinig, her stepdaughter (born to Coral & Fred Heinig) married her son, Meredith Gardner in 1938.
