Jerry Self, age 64 of Granite Falls, NC, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012 at his daughters residence in Cherryville, NC. He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late Riley and Zetta Anderson Self. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Adams Self in June of 2004. He is survived by his son, Riley Self of Lenoir, NC; his daughters, Bobbie Wilson of Wilmington, NC, Mary Bever of Tulsa, OK, Martha Pressley of Cherryville, NC, Geraldean Watson of Conover, NC; brothers, Benny Self of Robbinsville, NC, Mark Self of Hildabrand, NC; sisters, Becky Smith, Avis Servert both of Robbinsville, NC, Mavis Cody of Stecoah, NC, Pam Worley of Granite Falls, NC, and Dottie Smith of Pensacola, FL. He has 15 grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Townson-Smith Chapel. The Reverend Max Turpin will officiate. Burial will follow at the Lower Yellow Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 2:00 pm Monday at the Chapel prior to the services. Townson-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
