He grew up working with his dad at the Minneapolis Sale Barn. He graduated from Ada High School and served two years in the United States Navy. He was a lifelong farmer and an antique dealer and collector – fruit jars and primitives were his special interests.
He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, sports (KU basketball) and his various cats and dogs throughout the years.
Survivors also include sisters and brothers-law Janet Powell, Richard and Virginia Fobes, Warren and Elizabeth Hixenbaugh, Larry and Carol Hixenbaugh; several nieces and nephews, and a special cousin Linda Doran.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 22 at the Fairview Cemetery, Ada. Friends may call at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis, from 10:00 A.M. to Noon today. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Fairview Cemetery.
