Elmer A. Bryant
DIGHTON — Elmer A. Bryant,
77, Dighton, died Nov. 1,1993, at
Garden Valley Retirement Village,
Garden City.

He was born Jan. 29, 1916, in
Rush County, the son of Oscar L.
and Myrtle Childress Bryant. He
married Theola I. McLeish Dec.
6,1936, in Dighton.

Mr. Bryant was a farmerstockman
and had been a Lane
County resident since 1930.

He was a member of the United
Methodist Church of Dighton and
Was involved in many church activities.
He was a charter member
of the Fellowship Class and United
Methodist Men, served as church
Sunday school superintendent for
11 years, was lay leader of District
United Methodist Church and was
past president of Colby District
United Methodist Men.

Mr. Bryant served on and was
fcast president of the Lane County
Fair Board and was past president
of the State Fair Board. He also
served on Lane County's school
.board. He received a master
farmer award in 1966 and was a
national delegate to the Farm
Bureau Convention in Chicago.
He was past worshipful master
of the Barney Masonic Lodge #279
and past worthy patron of Order
of the Eastern Star #241, both at
at Dighton.

He was a member of Dighton
Rotary Club, Paul Harris Fellow
of Rotary and Isis Shrine of Salina.

Survivors include his wife, of
the home; two daughters, Phyllis
Marie Burnett, Anaheim, Calif.,
and Carolyn Louise Neeley,
Dighton; two brothers, Carrol,
Dighton, and Clarence, Scott City;
five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by a brother
and a sister.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday
at the United Methodist
Church of Dighton, the Rev. Barbara
Snell officiating. Burial will
be in Dighton Memorial Cemetery,
with Masonic rites.
Friends may call until 8 p.m.
today and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
tomorrow at Boomhower Funeral
Home, Dighton.

of the funeral home.
