The funeral service for Jane C. Monroe, 79, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 N. West St., Wheaton. Interment will be private.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday , at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road (one block east of Naperville Road), Wheaton.
Born July 2, 1930, in Storm Lake, Iowas, she died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008
She was a 1952 graduate of Drake University and a member of the Kappa Gamma Sorority. She retired after a long career as a deputy sheriff for DuPage County in 1998.
For 10 years, Jane was a member of the Wheaton Park District's Silvertones Choral Group, and was a lifetime member of the Wheaton Drama Club. She attend Trinity Episcopal Church in Wheaton.
Jane has a flair for writing silly odes, and a had a local following for her often published letters to the editor. She was a champion Uno player, and always loved being with her good friends and family.
Jane is survived by her children, Michael (Carol) Monroe, Michelle (Tom) Gattas and Scott (Karle) Monroe; six grandchildren, Jennifer Rutzen, Michael Monroe, Bryon and James Gattas, and Benjamin and Sam Monroe, her brother Rev. Kent Pinneo; and her two pussycats.
Memorial contributions to benefit the Silvertones Choral Group kindly made payable to Wheaton Park District, 208 W. Union Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187 appreciated.
