Eric D. Mann, 76, of Nanticoke passed away Saturday in Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.


He was the son of the late Eric and Margaret Morris Mann. He was a 1948 graduate of Nanticoke High School and Wilkes-Barre Business College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country during the Korean War.


Prior to his retirement in 2004, he was employed as a controller by the former American Chain and Cable, which later became Bridon American Corp. and FKI Industries. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Nanticoke, and the American Legion Post 350, Nanticoke.


Eric was one of the founding members of the Athletic Club of Nanticoke, serving as its president for many years.


He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, the former Jean Webster .


Surviving are his daughter, Jacqueline Belchick and her husband, Randy, Nanticoke; granddaughter Erica McQuown Jacobs and her husband, Joseph, Wilkes-Barre; great-grandson, Joseph Eric Jacobs; sisters, Mary Lou Andrews, Pen Argyl; Eleanor Gallagher, Alden; several nieces, nephews and cousins.


The funeral will be held Tuesday morning from Matthew T. Jacobs Funeral Home Inc., Wilkes-Barre, with Anita McGowan, staff chaplain of Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre, officiating. Interment will be in Hanover Green Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Friends may call Monday evening.


Memorial contributions may be made in Eric's memory to St. Therese Residence, Wilkes-Barre, or Hospice Community Care, Kingston, Pa.
