Alma Bennett passed away in the early morning hours of May 17, 2015, at 2:30am, in her adopted home in the state of Tennessee. She was later cremated, and interred at Calvary Cemetery in Yakima, Washington, alongside her beloved late husband Lorane Charles "Ben" Bennett (November 1, 1925-March 4, 2001), and mother Rosalia Cisneros de Duque (April 7, 1905-April 30, 2000).

Survivors include brother, Julio C. Duque of El Salvador; three children, Fred, Jannett, Charles Jr., and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Alma Bennett, 86, formerly of Everett, Wash. died of natural causes May 17, 2015 in Knoxville, Tenn. Alma was born in San Salvador, El Salvador. She came to Everett with her husband L.C. "Ben" Bennett in 1950. She was a full time mother and homemaker until her youngest child started high school. She then went to work at GTE, until she retired in 1994. She and Ben then retired to Yakima, Wash. Alma was a devout Catholic, attending Immaculate Conception and Mary Magdelan parishes. She never met a stranger and loved gardening, quilting and shopping.

She is survived by her three children, Jannett Bennett (Belfair, Wash.), Fred Bennett (Oak Harbor, Wash.) and Chuck Bennett (Beijing, China), their spouses; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She leaves several family members, including her brother, in El Salvador.

A Celebration of Life in Alma's honor was held Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. at Cedar Cross United Methodist Church, 1210 132nd St. SE, Mill Creek, WA.
