Susan kept the home fires burning. She bore 10 children, only 7 gained adulthood. Their home in Marietta is now part of Marietta College. When she was alive I know that while Lt Col AJ Warner (he was brevetted a Gen after the Civil War) traveled extensively, various children and grandchildren came back to call the house in Marietta home, for a short stay or a longer while. I know that Susan loved birds and gardening, collecting unusual horticultural specimens which she planted around her home.
Susan was my Greatgreatgrandmother. I know my Grandmother Maud Elizabeth Okey Johnson revered her, but as I'm traveling my own journey to find out about my family history - there isn't much to be found about Susan.I can't even find her date of death. The Washington Co Historical Society lists her as being interred in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Marietta, OH (http://www.wchs-ohio.org/cem_wagonerwarren.htm). I imagine she is next to her husband, Gen A.J. Warner 1834-1910, but I am not sure. The family plot is in Section 19 Lot 48. From the city directory I know that she was alive in 1910.
I am going to request a volunteer photo and hope to add to this. Well Chris Painter Very Nicely added pictures - and Susan's DOD was Dec 3, 1916. Thank you Chris!
