William B. "Bert" Jarrett, 78, of 146 N. State St., died at 6:50 pm. Wednesday in St. John's Hospital. He was born in Maxwell, the son of Lewis B. and Mary Mae Alexander Jarrett. He married Fannie McCalister in 1939. Mr Jarrett was a member of Carpenters Local No. 16 and retired from the George Griramett Co. Mr. Jarrett was also a member of the Loami Lodge No. 450 AF&AM, Elks Club No. 158, Ansar Temple, Ansar Retirees Club, the Knights of Pythias, Lodge Council Chapter Consistory, the waverly Historical Society, and Grace Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest.

Surviving are his wife, Fannie; three stepsons, James W. McCalister, Robert L. McCalister, Jack McCalister, all of Springfield; one brother, Lewis M. "Jerry" Jarrett of V=Waverly; two sisters, Mrs. Morris (Arvilla) Steadman, Mrs. Everett (Ruth) Turner, both of Waverly; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Bisch Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Paul Flesner officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
