HIALEAH, Florida — William Vance Sharp, 87, of Hialeah, Florida, and a former resident of Wellston, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Memorial Hospital Pembroke Vitas Hospice Care in Pembroke Pines, Florida.

He was born March 15, 1928 in Zaleski to the late Samuel Madison Sharp and Bertha Lucille Webb Sharp. Bill was a 1945 graduate of Zaleski High School and a veteran of the United States Marines, having served during World War II.

He was a former mechanic who retired from Nolan’s Garage in Miami, Florida. Bill is survived by his four children, Connie Sue Pipes (John) of Elizabeth, Colorado, Nora Lynn Whitney (Michael) of Vero Beach, Florida, Carol Ann Chasmar (Joe) of Clermont, Florida and Michael Wayne Sharp (Susie) of Madisonville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Stephen Whitney, Crystal Whitney, Joel Chasmar, Sara Chasmar and Nicole Merkel; great-grandchildren, Anthony Lopez, Dominic Gonzalez, Bryson Merkel and Walker Merkel; and his sister, Betty Eileen Hunter of Perry, Florida.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Juanita Kisor Sharp in 1995.

Calling hours will be Friday, May 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with John Pelletier, CLP officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston.
