Henry Stoutte Roberts, passed away early Tuesday morning after an illness extending over a week and funeral services were held at three o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Dr. John Hughston, pastor of the First Baptist Church and Rev. John Steen the assistant pastor, conducted the services in the presence of a large gathering of friends. Burial was in Westview cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joe Grant, Tony Owens, Sr., Joe Cooper, Ray Hitchcock, George Davis, Lee McCoy, Miles Nash, Clem Roberts and Jerry Foster.

Mr. Roberts came to Milledgeville from Griffin 29 years ago. He had retired from business life several years ago but had continued interest in the community affairs serving as Justice of the Peace for the 320th district, assisting often in the management of elections.

Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife who was the former Miss Ann Harrell Baldwin; a sister of the late Judge Cecil Baldwin and Albert Baldwin; two sons, Dr. H. S. Roberts,Jr., of Duke University, Charles Roberts, of Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Walker McKnight of this city and nine grandchildren.
