Mrs. Pearl Ford Dies In West
Mrs. Pearl Berry Ford, 59, widow of Levator Ford and a sister of Ralph L. Berry, head of Berry's Funeral Home here, died yesterday at her home near Albuquerque, N.M. She had been ill since the death of her husband eight months ago. Mrs. Ford, a daughter of the late W.L. Berry of Mount Olive was born and reared at Mount Olive. She was educated at the old Liberty Hall school and other schools in Tennessee. for a number of years she taught in Knox County schools. She and her husband, a former member of the Knoxville Police Department, moved to Albuquerque 25 years ago, where Mr. Ford was connected with a railway company, later retiring and living on his farm until his death. Mrs. Ford was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church until she transferred her membership to a Baptist church near her home. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Byron Morgan and a son L. P. Ford Jr.; her mother, Mrs. W. L. Berry, 76, who lives near Mount Olive; five brothers, Ralph L., Roy, Carl, Hugh and Drury Berry, Knoxville, and a sister, Mrs. James H. Weigel of this city, who was at the bedside at death. Ralph L. Berry, his son R.L. Jr., and a brother, Roy Berry, a city postman, left yesterday for Albuquerque before word of the death had been received here. Funeral probably will be Thursday.
