ELKHART — Russell A. Coleman, 52, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, May 16, at Elkhart Hospice House, following an illness.

He was born in South Bend to Charles and Beatrice (Lee) Coleman. They survive.


In addition, Russ is survived by his daughter, Kailey (Andy) Coleman of Portland, Ore.; son Kyle Coleman of Elkhart; and his former wife and caretaker, Elizabeth Coleman of Elkhart. Also surviving are his brothers, Chuck Coleman and Tim (Lisa) Coleman, both of South Bend, and Mike Coleman of Walkerton.

Russ was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Coleman.

Russ was a cylinder head technician for Performance Tech of Wakarusa for 27 years until his illness. He was a graduate of North Liberty High School.

Russ enjoyed working on his 1965 Chevy Nova as well as model cars. He liked to fish, snowmobile and care for his yard. He had a passion for racing.

A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 21, at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, where friends will be received from 4 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will take place at a later date in Highland Cemetery in South Bend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend; or to the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation, 341 W. 38th St., Suite 501, New York, NY 10016 or CJDFoudation.org.
