Paul served as a Staff Sergeant & Ball Turret Gunner on B-24J "Lassie Come Home" #42-51356, 707th Bomber Squadron, 446th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in New Haven County, Connecticut prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on September 23, 1943 in New Haven, Connecticut. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being Single, with dependents.

B-24J #42-51356 took off from Station 125 in England on a bombing mission over Misburg, Germany. They were later seen with their #3 engine on fire and they crashed in Germany during the war.

Paul was "Killed In Action" on this mission.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

Service # 31406363

He is interred somewhere in Connecticut.
