Audrey was an extraordinary woman with many talents: sewing, upholstery, beautician, musician and most importantly, a phenomenal Mom and Grandmother. She faithfully served the Union Baptist Church, Gordonsville, Va. as Director of Music for over 25 years, as well as, her home church, Locust Grove Baptist Church, Radiant, Va.
Audrey was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert S. Acty Jr. and William L. Acty; and her sister, Thelma A. Acty.Audrey leaves to cherish her memory, son, Roderick A. Avery (Sonya); daughter, Cheryl R. Marvray; and son, Ronald D. Avery; grandchildren, Audra J. Ross, Edward T. Ross Jr., Miles B. Ross, Meaghan Avery Isgett (Christopher), Cory Barbour, and Shaun Barbour (Jessica); 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Astorie Acty, Doretha Dickerson, and Frances Barbour; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the Medical Oncology staff of Martha Jefferson Hospital and Dr. Robert Pritchard for loving and caring for our Mother. We would also like to thank the wonderful people of Hospice of the Piedmont for their support and kindness.
The funeral services will be held at Locust Grove Baptist Church, Radiant, Va. Friday, May 22, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Frank D. Lewis Sr., Pastor, Antioch Baptist Church, Madison, officiating and Pastor Leonard S. Ray Jr., Locust Grove Baptist Church, Eulogist. Interment immediately following at Locust Grove Baptist Church.Services conducted by Preddys Funeral Home, Gordonsville, Va.
