Charles Aubrey Attaway, age 84, of Anderson, passed away on Tuesday, March 04, 2014.

Born in Pelzer, SC, he was the son of the late Roy Allen Attaway and the late Annie Mae Blackstone Attaway. Aubrey proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the retired owner of the Attaway Shell Station and a retired employee of Anderson School District 5. Aubrey was an avid Nascar fan and was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son, Ronald McClellan; a daughter-in-love, Margaret E. McClellan; three grandchildren, Karen C. Meeks, R. Gregory McClellan and Randall W. Coker, four great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; and very special friends, Ed and Candy Lewis, J. Floyd and Edna Stansell, and Ronnie and Linda Shaw.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Cara Brock Attaway; three brothers, Roy Dewitt, William Heyward and Clarence Rudolph Attaway.

The Graveside Service will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Reverend J. Floyd Stansell, Jr. officiating.

The family will be at the home of his son, 116 Hammett Acres, Anderson, SC, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, March 6, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Meadowbrook Baptist Church, 102 North Park Drive, Anderson, SC 29625.
