Adam Sink ws the second of eight known children of Johannes Zink/Zinc/Sink (all spellings seen) (1778-a1833) and Anna Margaret (went by Margaret) Hedrick Zink/Zinc/Sink (1782-1835), who married c1800 at presumably Rowan (now Davidson) County, North Carolina, though no marriage record can be located for them. It is not known where Johannes and Margaret are buried.

Adam married Barbara (went by Barbary) Clodfelter (1807-1863) on 12 Jun 1825 at Davidson County, North Carolina. Adam was a life long farmer in Rowan (became Davidson in 1822) County, North Carolina. Adam and Barbary were the parents of ten known children, namely:

1. Joseph Adam Sink (1827-1864)
2. William M. Sink (1829-1892)
3. Susannah Sink Sink (1831-1922)
4. Elizabeth Sink Tussey (1834-1863)
5. John D. Sink (1838-1863)
6. Jacob Sink (1840-1863)
7. Andrew Sink (1842-1930)
8. Margaret Jane Sink Curry (1845-1927)
9. Henry F. Sink (1848-???)
10. Mary Ann Sink Sowers (1851-a1886)

Some records show the youngest daughter Mary Ann Sink was born c1834 and married William Jones on 12 Feb 1857. However Mary was listed as age 8 on the 1860 census and age 18 on the 1870 census. Thus this may another Mary Sink Jones.
