ROY A. LOHMAN, 90, formerly of 11892 Gehr Road, died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, in the Quincy United Methodist Home. He had been in failing health since being admitted to the nursing home in October, 1983, and was critically ill the last two months.
Born Aug. 13, 1896, in Quincy Township, he was a son of the late Michael and Sarah (Snowberger) Lohman. His early life was lived in the Tomstown area.
He and his wife, Mrs. Lavina E. (Stewart) Lohman, were married in October, 1918, and moved to the Gehr Road residence in 1932. She died in April, 1982.
Mr. Lohman was self-employed in farming all his active life.
He had also worked at Frick Co. and was last employed in the erecting department at Landis Tool Co. for several years.
He was a member of the Gospel Chapel.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Sylvia M. Short, Mrs. Kathleen E. Helfrick and Mrs. Verna B. Kipe, all of Waynesboro, and Mrs. Sarah L. Lobas, Baltimore.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 step-great-grandchild and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was the last of his immediate family.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Grove Funeral Home with Mr. Charles O. Martin officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill
Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services Friday.
