Elizabeth was the daughter of Michael Zimmerman, immigrant from Germany. She married John George Kupper (aka Cooper or Kooper) on 1 July 1756 in Lancaster County (now Lebanon County), Pennsylvania. After they purchased the property from Peter Long in 1769, they moved their family to the home in the newly formed (Upper) Paxton Township (1767), which is now in Washington Township, Dauphin, Pennsylvania. Their land is east of the present-day village of Rife and west of the borough of Elizabethville.
