157th NY Inf. co. F, enlisted Sept. 19, 1862 at Smyrna, NY for a term of 3 years as a private. A bounty of $50 was paid; he was married, a blacksmith by trade.

First enlisted in the 26th regt. from Hamilton,NY for 3 months as 2nd or 1st Lieutenant and resigned at the expiration of same.

Killed at Chancellorsville May 2, 1862. Remains buried by Rebels on field.
