Raymond Gust Trester, 93, of Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Rushford, died Monday morning, Nov. 3, 1997, at Good Shepherd Home.

He was born April 3, 1904, in Hart Township of Winona County to Herman and Minnie (Schultz) Trester. Raymond married Evedia Olson on June 12, 1928, in Highland Prairie. They farmed at Bratsburg on the Nels H. Olson family farm at first in partnership with the Olson family and later on their own. Evedia died Dec. 3, 1982. He entered Good Shepherd Lutheran Home March 8, 1986.

Raymond was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Hart, where he served several years as elder and also council chairman for a term.

He is survived by a son, Roger of Rushford, and was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church at Hart with the Rev. Roger B. James officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at Hoff Funeral Home-Cook Rushford Chapel. They may also call one hour before services Thursday at the church."
