Daniel Fairchild, who suffered a broken leg and other injuries by falling under a loaded wagon several weeks ago, as chronicled in the News, died yesterday at his home, three miles from Shirland Station, from a complication of diseases brought on by the shock. He was a native of Rockton, being born there 52 years ago. He made that village his home until a few years ago when he purchased the Packard farm in Shirland township.
A widow and eight children survive him. The children are Mrs. William Simonds, Mrs. Bessie Black, Mrs. Florence Willard, George, Robert, Fannie, Bessie and Mildred Fairchild, all of Shirland.
The funeral takes place from the house Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the interment being in the Rockton cemetery.
