Wilma Byrd, 90, of Perrysville, passed away at 10:35 p.m. EDT Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Union Hospital Clinton in Clinton, Indiana.

She was born April 5, 1925 in Georgetown, Illinois, the daughter of the late Walter and Gladys Holstine James. She married Sherman M. Byrd on Jan. 24, 1944 in Newport, Indiana. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2008. Wilma was also preceded in death by her infant son, Richard Byrd; one sister, Wanda Byrd and two brothers, Willard and Wayne James.

Survivors include two nephews, Joe (Tina) Byrd and Jerry Byrd; one great-nephew, Bob Byrd and one sister, Elizabeth (John) Allen.

Wilma retired from General Electric in Danville, Illinois.

She attended Coal Branch Church in rural Perrysville. Wilma was a 1943 graduate of Cayuga High School and a member and past treasurer of the Wabash Steam and Gas Club.
