Casketbearers were grandsons, Gerry, Larry and Steve Thomas, Bill Cleaver, Ted and Gary Peters.
Honorary casketbearers were Messrs. Jim Moss, Harold Baker, Howard Logan, Harvey Robinson and Marvin Blackford.
Bertha Peters, the former Bertha Harmes, was born October 10, 1895, in rural Moville, the daughter of Henry and Ellen Harmes. She married Roland A. Peters November 24, 1915, at Moville. He died July 2, 1977, at Moville. She was a lifetime Moville area resident. She worked as a cook in local cafes and the Woodbury County Care Facility for several years.
She was a member of Moville United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Rebecca Lodge of Moville.
Mrs. Peters died Thursday December 14, 1989 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Kingsley of a short illness.
Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Thomas of Moville, Vivian (Mrs. Kenneth Kamm) of Sioux City, and Della Mae Conner of Moville.; 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, two sons, one grandson, one great-grandson, two brothers and one sister.-Submitted by Ted Peters
