Wayne F. Simmons, age 84, of Montgomery, TX, (20 years) and formerly of Houston, TX (50 years), passed peacefully on May 17, 2015 at 5:30 a.m. of Lryngeal Cancer.

Wayne was the first born of nine children of Thomas Lavert and Annie Millican-Simmons. He was born in Pontotoca, Mississippi. He moved to Texas at the age of fourteen and never left. He loved being a Texan.

He was married to his Cherished Wife, Nancy Kerns-Simmons for 64 years. They had four children, Larry, Gary, Julie and Jerry, 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Wayne has been in the flooring business for over 53 years. He owned The W.F. Simmons Carpet Service, with his wife Nancy for 14 years. He then started Simmons Carpet Sales & Service, Inc. with his four brothers, Harold, Clyde, Clark and Ray Simmons, and a friend, Donald Allen.

Wayne is preceded by his parents, son, Larry Wayne Simmons, brother Harold Simmons, his father and mother-in-law, Van and Mary Ebersol-Kerns, brother-in-law, Richard Kerns. sister-in-law JoAnn Kerns and brother-in-law Wes Phillips.

Services to be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 20850 Eva St., (105 West), Montgomery, Texas 77356 on Wednesday, May 20th. Viewing will begin at 12:00 p.m., and services at 1:00 p.m. Interment following services at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas - telephone (713) 928-5141.
