Steven W. Dawson, 62, Clinton, Illinois, passed away at 6:45 PM Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from injuries sustained in a single car vehicle accident on Birkbeck Road in DeWitt County.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton with cremation rites to be accorded following. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Second Chance Pet Adoption. The family has entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton with arrangements. Graveside Services 11 AM Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton.
Steve was born August 28, 1952 in Clinton, the son of George William and Mary Joanne (DeAtley) Dawson. He married Debra Booth on November 1, 1994 in Clinton. She passed away March 6, 2006.
Survivors include three sons, Jamie (Loretta) Dawson of Union, MO, Chris (Sara) Dawson of St. Clair, MO and Justin Burris of Clinton; two step-children, Courtney (Mark Underwood) Glasco of Decatur and Eric (Amelia) Glasco of Decatur. Also surviving are his brother, Randy Dawson of Clinton; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Steve is a US Air Force veteran. He had worked for Revere Copper & Brass, Inc. in Clinton. He enjoyed playing on the computers, fishing, movies and horseback riding. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.
