Eli D. Kelly Passes Away

Eli D. Kelly died at the age home of his son, W. R. Kelly, in Summit township, Sunday afternoon at the ripe old age of 83 years.

A few weeks ago Mr. Kelly was stricken with paralysis, from which, owning to his advanced age, he failed to rally, and was the cause of his death.

The deceased was a native of Ohio, but spent the most part of his life in this (Effingham) county, being one of the pioneer settlers.

Mr. Kelly was a successful farmer, of a genial and pleasant disposition and a Christian man. He will be greatly missed by his many friends.

Deceased leaves the following children: W. R. Kelly, of Summit township; M. M. Kelly, of Shumway and Mrs. Fred Miller, of Shumway; Mrs. W. S. Adams, of Effingham.

The funeral was held Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock from the Van Tresse Chapel, conducted by Rev. Ewers, of Moccasin. Interment in Blue Point cemetery.
