Barry Lee Dimon, age 57, of Alexandria Bay, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at his sister’s home in Star Lake under the care of St. Lawrence Valley Hospice.
There will be a graveside service with military honors on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Gouverneur with Rev. Rick Pickert officiating.
Barry was born on November 14, 1957 in Gouverneur, NY to the late Charles A. and Helen M. (Simmons) Dimon. He attended Indian River Central School and then enlisted in the United States Army. There he served from 1974 until his honorable discharge in 1976. Barry worked as a laborer for Leader Fence in Syracuse.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and just being outdoors. He was a very independent man and just enjoyed the solitude of being alone in the woods with nature.
Surviving is a sister and her husband, Betty and Ronald Lashua of Star Lake; six brothers and their wives, Rodger and Linda of Antwerp, Charles and Kate of Owasso, OK, Webb and Nellie of Flemming, NY, David and Barbara of Ocala, FL, Milton and Joyce of Rochester and Murray and Patsy of Buffalo.
Barry is predeceased by a son, Nathan Dimon and a brother, James Dimon.
