Susie Shepherd Malone, 58, of Athens, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, May 16, 2015.
A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, Susie was a daughter of the late Kelly G. and Betty Rodgers Shepherd. She was an assistant vice president of Citizens National Bank with 37 years of service. She had led the CNB Relay Team for many years in support of the American Cancer Society. She was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Kelly Bethany Crabtree of Athens; son and daughter-in-law, Jamie Lynn and Amy Crabtree of Englewood; her precious grandson, Noah Jamieson Crabtree; sister, Patsy Arnett of Athens; brothers, Herbert Shepherd of Athens, Kelly R. "Kid" Shepherd of Athens, and Jim Shepherd of Athens; several nieces and nephews; lifelong friend, Jane Kilpatrick; and special friend, Debbie Malone.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with Pastor Neal Pillion officiating.
Burial will be in McMinn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Tony Shepherd Burns, Patrick Shepherd, Greg Shepherd, Darren Shepherd, Phillip Shepherd, and Kevin Moses.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ziegler Funeral Home in Athens.
