James L. Hamrick Sr., 65, of Fort Wayne died Friday at home. The Spartansburg, S.C., native was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, retired in 1989 from Gold Shield Fiberglass Co. and also drove for Transport Motor Express 28 years. He was a member of Sol D. Bayless Lodge 359 F&AM and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6580. Surviving are his wife, Opal M.; daughters, Cathy L. Savieo of Fort Wayne and Patricia Greene of Garrett; son, James L. Jr. of Kalamazoo, Mich.; sister, Patsy Burkett of Fort Wayne; brothers, Paul and Max, both of Fort Wayne; and seven grandchildren. Services were today in D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, with burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
