Political figure. Described in her obituary in Britain's Daily Telegraph as "a prominent proponent of racialist ideas. Her prejudice was not selective; she disliked all foreigners equally." 2nd wife of the 2nd Lord Birdwood, son of the World War One Field Marshall. Achieved some fame for her involvement with various extreme right wing political organisations, including the National Front, British National Party and World Anti Communist League. Also prominent in Mary Whitehouse's National Viewers' and Listeners' Association. Stood for Parliament three times, most notably at the 1983 Bermondsey by-election.
