"Funeral services were held Friday at Canton, S.D., for William McCall, former resident here.
Services were from the Anderson funeral home with Rev. C.D. Bullock officiating with burial in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Alcester, S.D. Mr. McCall died last Wednesday.
He was born at Hanover, Ill., May 9, 1864. He moved to a farm near Ireton and was married to Gertrude Fosburg, Sept. 13, 1888. This September they would have been married 60 years.
To this union three children were born, Floy of Canton, S.D., Merlyn of Alcester, S.D., and one son who died in infancy. Mr. McCall and family moved to S.D., fifty six years ago. Fourteen years were spent on their farm near Alcester. Because of the daughter's health they moved to Colorado then Arkansas and later spent, eleven years in California before returning to S.D. The last six years were spent in Canton where he passed away at the age of 83 years.
Survivors are the widow, the son and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. B.T. Bay attended the services Friday."
