Pamela S. Lane, 57 of Marblehead, MA was tragically taken much too soon on Friday, October 3, 2014.

She is survived by her parents Ed and Maggie Smith of Marblehead, fiance Tim Flynn of Chapel Hill, NC and his children Tegan and Dillon, daughter Stephanie Lane of Marblehead, daughter Cortney Cummings and her husband Dan of Marblehead, sister Carol Spillane and her husband Paul of Marblehead, sister Wendye Goldsmith of Newton, and brother Charlie Smith and his wife Jane of Marblehead. She is also survived by grandson Henry Cummings, nieces Katie Spillane, Lydia Smith, Emily Smith, and Delia Smith, and nephew Dan Spillane.

She was a graduate of Marblehead High school, class of 75 and The University of Maine. For 17 years she was the owner of the Marblehead Sport Shop. She later became a successful real estate agent working with Coldwell Banker in Marblehead. She most recently was teaching English to Spanish speaking students at the Learning Center of Durham, NC. She was also a mediator for the Hillsboro County Courts system in Hillsboro, NC.

In addition to her many accomplishments she lived every day to the fullest. She led an active, healthy lifestyle. You would often see her out walking, biking, kayaking, golfing, playing tennis, paddle boarding, or doing yoga. Time spent laughing with her family and friends was most important to her. Family and friends described her as generous, warm-hearted, genuine, real, enthusiastic, caring, fun, outgoing, a best friend, a light in our lives, and now our angel. Pam enjoyed helping others and donated her time and generosity to several charities and foundations, including volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and the Crombie Street Shelter.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 10:00am at the Old North Church, 35 Washington Street, Marblehead. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Pam S. Lane Scholarship Fund, Care of The National Grand Bank, 91 Pleasant Street, Marblehead MA, 01945. Arrangements by Eustis and Cornell of Marblehead.
