Nancy M. Reed, 75 of Huntington passed away on Friday, May 15, 2015 at her residence. Nancy was a 1958 graduate of Huntington High School. She was a co-worker of the Women of the Moose Chapter 255 of Huntington. She attended Central Christian Church. Nancy had worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Huntington and then Andrews for 27 ½ years, retiring in 2008. She had previously worked as a waitress at Hotel LaFontaine for several years. She had bowled for several years in Huntington and was a member of the Women's Bowling Association.
Nancy was born on January 7, 1940 in Huntington County, a daughter of Leslie W. and Berenice M. (Vardaman) McBride.
She was united in marriage to Willis H. Reed on October 18, 1958 in Huntington. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2006.
Survivors include a son: Rory A. (Lori) Reed of Huntington; two daughters: Melanie M. (Richard) Buckner of Huntington; Cynthia R. Reed-Flemming of Huntington; a sister: Donna Huston of Wolcotville; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Gloria Schmid.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 6:00 pm following visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
Interment will take place at the St. Peter's First Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial donations can be made out to American Heart Association or Huntington Humane Society both in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
