Gayle Doreen Lindsey was born in Alexandria, Minnesota on July 1, 1931, the daughter of Hugo and Doris (Glade) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Calvary Lutheran Church and attended school in Alexandria. On February 6, 1949, Gayle was united in marriage to Lloyd "Buster" Lindsey. The couple continued to live in Alexandria. Gayle also enjoyed traveling with Buster on his truck routes. It gave them both the opportunity to see the countryside and be together. Gayle also will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She died on Wednesday, January 3, 1990, at the Douglas County Hospital at the age of 58 years.
Gayle is survived by husband: Lloyd (Buster) Lindsey of Alexandria; children: Tom of Fergus Falls, Kathy of Alexandria, Jerry of Eden Prairie, and Ken of Alexandria; grandchildren: Randi, Sara, Ryan, Shaun, Julianna and Joshua. Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, son Randy, and granddaughter Victoria.
Funeral services were Saturday, January 6, 1990, 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Alexandria, Minnesota, with Rev. Jim McVicar officiating. Interment was in Kinkead Cemetery, Alexandria, Minnesota. Pallbearers were Larry Olson, Brad Olson, Mike Olson, Butch Olson, Joe Steen and Michael Steen. Honorary Pallbearers were Fred Mastellar, Bruce Lindquist, Jeff Colton, Ralph Tvrdik, Mike Soden, Bill Wollin, Dan Olson and Rudy Nelson. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
