Jan loved the Lord and it was in His service that she selflessly and without ceasing gave back to her family, her church, and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. During her years with the DAVA, she served as state commander and National Second Vice Commander and was in line to be National Commander before having to give up her post to care for her ailing beloved Jim. Known for her quilting, she was always working on a new quilt for the DAV and could be found quietly volunteering at the VA Hospital or Immanuel Baptist, her church of 50+ years.
