Mr. Charles L. McDonald age 95, of Gordonsville, TN, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at the University Medical Center in Lebanon, TN.
Mr. McDonald was born April 23, 1920 in Gordonsville, TN, the Son of the late; John Marion McDonald and Julia Lee Ashley. He was also preceded in death by Five Sisters; Betty Jean McDonald, Ruth Marion Gross, Katherine Beasley, Maxine Hancock, and Eleanor Williams, Four Brothers; Brice McDonald, Roy McDonald, Thurston McDonald, and Gail McDonald and Two Half-Sisters; Reba Agee and Mary Haywood.
Mr. Charles married Elaine Carter on December 23, 1945. He served his country in World War II as a 1st Class Ship Fitter in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. Mr. Charles worked at American Marine and as a Farmer, and was a member of the Gordonsville United Methodist Church.
Mr. McDonald is survived by his Wife of 69 years; Elaine Carter McDonald of Gordonsville, TN. Son; Byron (Pamela) McDonald of Mt. Juliet, TN. Grandchildren; Nathan (Lauren) McDonald, and Adam (Tonya) McDonald. Four Great-Grandchildren; Rachel, Kate, Andy, and Marshall, and One Sister; Evelyn Kelly of Lancaster, TN.
Funeral Services for Mr. McDonald are scheduled to be conducted from the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 2PM with Bro. Dickie Johnson officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery.
Visitation with the McDonald family will be held at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Sunday from 3PM until 7PM and again on Monday from 12 Noon until the time of the service at 2PM.
