Robert H. Keck

Robert H. Keck, 80, of Darmstadt, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015, at Heritage Nursing Center. He was born, deaf and mute, October 7, 1934, in Evansville, to the late Walter and Catherine (Balbach) Keck.
He attended Reitz High School, graduating in 1954 and was a loyal and proud supporter of Reitz and U of E athletics his entire life. "Bob" was a truly skilled carpenter for most of his life having worked for his father and brother (Don Keck). He later worked for his nephew (Jeff Day) at Evansville Rug Cleaning until just last year. He was truly a hard worker and never let his handicap prevent him from communicating with anyone. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Darmstadt and was a familiar face to all in Darmstadt. Bob married the love of his life "Charlotte" on June 22, 1985 and cared for her lovingly up until the time of her death on April 6, 2009. He truly missed having her in his life.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Keck.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, May 18, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church Darmstadt, 1403 W. Boonville-New Harmony Road with visitation 9:30AM until service time, with burial in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road.
The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to Don Hester and the wonderful staff at Heritage Center for taking great care of Bob. They were a blessing to Bob and our family.
