Jeffery Lee Mitchell, 65, of Melbourne, Arkansas died Friday, May 15, 2015, in White River Medical Center surrounded by his family and friends.

Born February 10th, 1950, in Batesville, Arkansas, he was the son of Claudis Steve Mitchell and Doris Lucy Kelley Mitchell. He was united in marriage to Vivian Allene Morehead on August 8th, 1969 in Melbourne, Arkansas.

He was a mechanic by trade, working at Earl King Chevrolet in Calico Rock, then moving to Davidson Chevrolet in Melbourne before opening his own garage in 1979. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved his time spent with his family and friends hunting and the preferred favorite of trout fishing on the White River. Jeff also enjoyed many years of teaching and nurturing children through 4-H and was all too eager to have one of his famous fish fries for any
occasion. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the New Bethel Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian of 45 years, four daughters, Janice Conyers and her husband, Michael, of Mount Pleasant, Arkansas, Sherry Santa and her husband, Douglas, of Austin, Texas, Kelley Russell and her husband, Jody, of Melbourne and Rose Crossno and her husband, Josh, of Paragould, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren, Blake Jeffery and Tera Conyers of Hardy, Arkansas and Hannah Marie Conyers of Mount Pleasant, Dakota, Trevor, Jasmine, Vivi, Lexie and Charlie Santa of Austin, Texas, Jackson and Jeffery Russell of Melbourne and Justin Levi and Lucy Maye Crossno of Paragould, Arkansas and one great-granddaughter, Haddie Edith Conyers of Hardy, Arkansas. He is also survived by two sisters, Gertie Ann Hively of Cushman, Arkansas, Linda Faye McAnally and her husband, Jeff, of Zion, Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Linda Darlene Mitchell of Bethesda, Arkansas and a host of nieces and nephews, as well as, many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant sister, Doris Marie Mitchell and one brother, Dean Carl Mitchell.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at New Bethel Baptist Church with David Todd and Wayne Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Combs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeremey Jones, Teddy Morehead, Cecil Morehead, Jeffery Jay Gilllihan, Bradly Joe Guthrie and David Watts.

Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2015, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Melbourne.
