She was 13 days shy of her 102nd birthday. Survived by her sister, Mildred Bodiou and niece, Sandra Dole. She is predeceased by her husband Harold; siblings Rose Akers and Clarence Azevedo; and nieces Sharon, Phyllis, and grandniece, Susan. Although having no children of her own, she was great-aunt to Terri, Kathy, Mike, Sally, Dan and Dave; great-great aunt to 15 and great-great-great aunt to 12, all of whom she loved dearly. After graduating from Sacramento High School In 1930, she immediately took a job that turned into a 45-year career at Pac Bell and AT&T. where she rose from telephone operator to management positions. She was a lifetime member of Telephone Pioneers. After retirement, Dorothy immediately turned her caring for people into a 25-year Volunteer job at the Reception Desk at Sutter Memorial Hospital, where her warm smile soothed many an anxious family. Dorothy was gracious, kind and fun-loving, and will be remembered for her patient and understanding manner. The family wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude to caregivers, Suliana (Julie) and Rubina for the loving care they gave our remarkable aunt.
