Anna Irene Nolan, 78, of Sweet Home died Sunday.

She was born to Ralph and Stella (Johnson) Nolan in Lacomb.

Anna lived in the Lacomb and Portland areas until joining the Army in 1952. She served in Paris, France, at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) from 1952 to 1956. After leaving the Army, she moved to Santa Ana, Calif., where she worked for 30 years at Southern California Edison Lighting. In 1995, she relocated to Sweet Home.

Anna was active with the Church of Foothills in Santa Ana and also at the Sweet Home Church of Christ. She enjoyed her friends, family, church, gardening, various volunteer efforts and playing Mah-Jongg.

She is survived by sisters Hilda Nolan Davis of Sweet Home, Martha Nolan of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Eunice Nolan Kortje of Irvine, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be Saturday at the Church of Christ at 18th and Long.
